Alcohol Awareness Training

Alcohol Awareness Training is a mandatory annual training required for us to sell alcohol at the Irish Fair of MN.

Volunteers working in the areas listed below MUST attend one of the following sessions in person or you will be reassigned to another area.

  • You must take this training even if you've taken it before or are certified as a bartender/server. This training includes Irish Fair & festival policies that are specific to this event.
  • There is no virtual option

Volunteer positions that require this training

  • Beverage Tent Bartender (Beverage East, Cub Pub, Guinness Pub)
  • Food & Beverage Runner
  • VIP Hospitality Team Member
  • Whiskey Experience
We request that all volunteers regardless of position take this training to allow greater flexibility in reassigning positions as needed, but we know it's not always feasible. If you are not registered for a position that requires this training, you don't have to register for it.

Training schedule

  • Monday, July 28 from 6:30-8:00pm | University of St. Catherine, St. Paul
  • Thursday, August 7 from 6-7:30pm | Harriet Island in the Cub Pub Tent.
    • (Attendees of this session can purchase a discount to the Ceol on the River concert that is happening on the Main Stage that same night. More details about the concert can be found on the Ceol on the River page.)
