Hurling is a very old sport that plays a role in Irish legends. It is said that CĂș Chulainn was a skilled hurler. Camogie is almost identical to hurling, except it's played by women (similar to baseball vs. softball). It is a team sport played with a stick (called a "hurley") and a ball (called a "sliotar"). Players try to score by hurling the ball through upright poles like in American Football or past the goalkeeper as in soccer.
