Hurling is a very old sport that plays a role in Irish legends. It is said that Cú Chulainn was a skilled hurler. Camogie is almost identical to hurling, except it's played by women (similar to baseball vs. softball). It is a team sport played with a stick (called a "hurley") and a ball (called a "sliotar"). Players try to score by hurling the ball through upright poles like in American Football or past the goalkeeper as in soccer. Click here to learn more about how camogie is played.
