For a second year in a row, the Irish Fair of Minnesota is partnering with the Target USA Cup soccer tournament (the largest youth tournament in America!) to bring over a girls’ team from Belfast! This year, we're welcoming the Ballyclare Comrades U-19 team!
The most exciting part of the competition for many of the participating kids is the Opening Ceremony - an Olympic-style event where teams wear their uniforms or native dress and parade through the stadium at the National Sports Center in Blaine.
The USA Cup needs volunteers (ages 16 and up) to help organize the teams and walk with them into the stadium. This is not only a good opportunity to meet the sponsored team, but it’s a lot of fun seeing how excited the kids get interacting with kids from other states and other countries.
The Opening Ceremony is on July 15 from 5:00 – 9:00pm at the National Sports Center in Blaine. The meeting location for volunteer training will be sent to registered volunteers in an email, along with parking instructions.
