Hurling is a very old sport that plays a role in Irish legends. It is said that Cú Chulainn was a skilled hurler. It is a team sport played with a stick (called a "hurley") and a ball (called a "sliotar"). Players try to score by hurling the ball through upright poles like in American Football or past the goalkeeper as in soccer.
