Internship Job Descriptions


The Irish Fair of Minnesota Internship Program provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience with planning and implementation of one of the most fun, family-friendly events in the Twin Cities and one of the most authentic Irish festivals nationwide.

We are looking for 2 interns with experience or strong interest in: SOCIAL MEDIA - MARKETING

Time Commitment

Day and evening times are available, averaging  approximately 8-15 hours per week beginning in February and ending in mid-August. Dates and hours are flexible. Work location: most work can be done virtually with some office hours in our St. Paul office.  The internship culminates on the weekend of Aug 12-14 at Harriet Island in St. Paul.


Intern positions are unpaid. An internship with Irish Fair of Minnesota will provide opportunities to network, build a portfolio and gain valuable professional skills. Interns will be trusted with projects that will give them real experience and confidence in their chosen profession.

Interns will develop event and marketing experience for large events from the ground up:  planning stages to completion, while also developing soft skills such as professionalism, management, communication skills. In short, this job is a resume builder. 

Application Process

Preference will be given to those possessing active marketing/digital marketing proficiency, initiative, project management, strong communication and organizational skills. The candidate need not be Irish, be from a non-profit background and need not be a student. 


  • Supports the Event Manager, Marketing committee and any supporting digital marketing and public relations agency in implementing the marketing and media plan for the 2022 Irish Fair of Minnesota.

  • Demonstrates competency in social media and how media and communication strategies can expand our reach and continuously engage the online community. 

  • Writes and creates marketing content which promotes Irish Fair and Irish Fair’s sponsors and community partners.

  • Other responsibilities may include partnering with local businesses for promotional opportunities, developing marketing strategies & tactics and following through to execution, including work with outside vendors and representing Irish Fair at events. 


  • Demonstrated marketing and digital marketing skills. 

  • Project management skills, effective organization, communication, and time management skills.

  • Flexibility and the willingness to work hours necessary to get the job done.

  • Personable, detail oriented, able to adapt to a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment.

  • Needs to be a team player, independent problem solver, and possess a positive attitude.

  • Able to work under general supervision and to exercise independent judgment.

  • Knowledge of Mac and Windows OS and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Excel proficiency is a must.

  • Possesses skill in writing, presentation, interpersonal communication

  • Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and video creation and other relevant tools
