The Irish Fair of Minnesota Internship Program provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience planning and implementing one of the most family friendly events in the Twin Cities and one of the most authentic Irish festivals nationwide. The Irish Fair of Minnesota is attended annually by 80-100,000 visitors.

We are looking for interns with experience with or strong interest in:


  • Graphic Design
  • PR & Marketing
  • Event Planning


  • Graphic Design:  Build your portfolio while developing marketing tools for a large audience for an annual Arts and Culture Event.  Develop posters, Facebook covers, website graphics, postcards, newspaper ads/taxi images, banners, t-shirts, and more.  Learn about working with the brand of an organization while developing relevant content. Support and guidance provided by the Director.


  • Event Planning:  Get firsthand experience planning Irish Fair events such as the Irish Arts Week. Plan an area of the Irish Fair or support in the information management of planning an event for 80,000 people. Support and guidance provided by the Director.


  • Marketing/PR:  Learn to work with an organization’s brand.  Work with a marketing committee to generate new and innovative media campaigns. Work with the organization’s PR Firm. Track analytics and metrics and generate reports as needed. Develop a schedule to support event sponsors to increase their return on investment. Assist with creation of marketing pieces and copy. Work closely with the Director and Marketing committee.


Time Commitment
Day and evening times are available, approximately 10-15 hours per week, May 15 - August 15, 2017. Dates and hours are flexible.



Intern positions are unpaid. However, the internship with Irish Fair of Minnesota will provide opportunities to network, build a portfolio and gain valuable professional skills. Interns will be trusted with projects that will give them real experience in their chosen profession.
