2012 Headliners: Gaelic Storm: Gaelic Storm is back in full-force with their newest album, 'Cabbage.' The record held the #1 position on the Billboard World Music Album Chart for 3 consecutive weeks in 2010. 'Cabbage' is the follow up to their 2008 independent release, "What's The Rumpus?" which debuted at #1 on the Billboard World Chart. As many hundreds of thousands of record buyers and live music lovers know, Gaelic Storm is "a whirlwind ruckus" (Village Voice) that tours over two hundred days per year and play high-energy, foot-stomping, feel-good music. 'Cabbage' is further testament to the bands contagious energy, combining influences from rock, bluegrass, Jamaican, African and Middle Eastern music that may surprise those expecting purely traditional Celtic music. The quintet's new release once again showcases Gaelic Storm's signature acoustic sound with a brand new batch of crafted story-songs and driving instrumentals. Young Dubliners: Seamlessly blending their rock and Celtic influences into a high energy, anthemic and lyrically poignant mix, jumps energetically from ballad to barn burner, documenting as they go the vibrant yet chaotic world they find themselves in. From edgy political tunes to the travails of life in an internationally touring band, the Young Dubliners music chronicles and tackles it all with joy, wit, enthusiasm and a profound belief that things can get better. They're joined once again by traditional Uillean pipe and pennywhistle master Eric Rigler, famed for his film work on the Titanic and Braveheart soundtracks, who has appeared on the bands last three albums and is a regular touring member. Atlantic Steps: An international-touring adaptation of the phenomenally successful Irish show Fuaim Chonamara. It tells the inspiring epic story of Ireland’s oldest dance form, portrayed through the music, song, dance and energy of the Connemara region. Centered around the joyful dance and unbridled enthusiasm of Brian Cunningham – the show continues to move festival and theatre audiences to their feet, bringing sean-nós dance to its’ rightful place on the world stage. For the very first time, US audiences will have an opportunity to see the spectacular new show in Summer 2012 at Irish Fair of Minnesota. Liz Carroll with Cormac McCarthy – and special guests Trian: Liz in concert that has entranced audiences throughout the States, and also in tours of Ireland, Europe, and Africa. It should be noted that Liz's recordings are in the majority her own compositions, and they have given her a stature equal to that of her playing. She astounded the Celtic music world by winning the Senior All-Ireland Championship, Liz and her fiddle have been amazing audiences around the globe. In recent years, she has been honored with many accolades, including the nomination for a 2010 Grammy, along with John Doyle, for their duet album, "Double Play." And in April of 2011, Liz was awarded the Cumadóir TG4, the first American-born composer honored with Ireland's most significant traditional music prize. Liz published a book of her compositions in 2010. Entitled "Collected," it includes a remarkable compendium of music that Liz began composing when she was just a child. Those tunes, as well as Liz's vital performances on concert stages, television and radio, have established Liz as one of traditional music's most sought after performers.
