ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE CHARTER

PURPOSE:

Responsibility for the development of the Entertainment Plan for the organization rests with the Board of Directors. The Entertainment Committee provides the Board with guidance and counsel on available acts, scheduling, bookings and promotions by reviewing, discussing, evaluating and helping to implement proposed Entertainment strategies. The Entertainment Committee should also work cooperatively with the other relevant areas of the event to ensure successful execution of the event, specifically with concern to scheduling recommendations and volunteer needs/availability.

MEMBERSHIP:

Appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors, with the discretion to appoint members who are not current Directors. The Board Chair and Executive Director of the IFM are members.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Entertainment Committee Chair reports to the Board of Directors.

MEETINGS:

As necessary to prepare for Board discussions and to meet yearly goals of the Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist in the development of concepts, plans, strategies, programs, and activities that support, facilitate, and otherwise guide the main Entertainment goals of the IFM.
  • To assist in the development of an Entertainment Schedule for IFM and, as necessary, recommend periodic updates and revisions to the plan.
  • To advise the Board of Directors and Executive Director regarding areas of emphasis for the annual Entertainment budget.
  • To assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director in an annual review and assessment of the effectiveness of the various Entertainment efforts and expenditures for each completed fiscal year.
  • To serve as a creative resource group for ideas pertaining to Entertainment options.
MARKETING COMMITTEE CHARTER

PURPOSE:

Responsibility for the development of a Marketing Plan for the organization rests with the Board of Directors. The Marketing Committee provides the Board with guidance and counsel on marketing, public relations and promotions by reviewing, discussing, evaluating and helping to implement proposed marketing strategies

MEMBERSHIP:

Appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors, with the discretion to appoint members who are not current Directors. The Board Chair and Executive Director of the IFM are members.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Marketing Committee Chair reports to the Board of Directors.

MEETINGS:

As necessary to prepare for Board discussions and to meet yearly goals of the Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist in the development of concepts, plans, strategies, programs, and activities that support, facilitate, and otherwise guide the marketing and public relations efforts for IFM.
  • To assist in the development of a Marketing Plan for IFM and, as necessary, recommend periodic updates and revisions to the plan.
  • To advise the Board of Directors and Executive Director regarding areas of emphasis for the annual advertising budget, assuming funding is available.
  • To assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director in an annual review and assessment of the effectiveness of the advertising efforts and expenditures for each completed fiscal year.
  • To serve as a creative resource group for ideas pertaining to public relations, marketing, and advertising.
SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE CHARTER

PURPOSE:

Responsibility for the development of sustainable long-term financial resources for the organization rests with the Board of Directors. The Sponsorship Committee provides the Board with guidance and counsel on revenue-generating plans (both earned income and fundraising) by reviewing, discussing, evaluating and helping to implement proposed financial development and marketing strategies.

MEMBERSHIP:

Appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors, with the discretion to appoint members who are not current Directors. The Board Chair and Executive Director of the IFM are members.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

The Sponsorship Committee Chair reports to the Board of Directors.

MEETINGS:

As necessary to prepare for Board discussions and to meet yearly goals of the Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To identify potential event sponsors for both the IFM festival weekend and any smaller events throughout the year.
  • To identify potential sponsorship professionals who may be able to help the Board and Executive Director develop sponsorship opportunities.
  • To maintain an inventory of sponsorable items and “market valuation” of these items.
  • To assist in ensuring that reasonable sponsor expectations are met.
  • To participate, at the direction of the Board and Executive Director, in the negotiation of sponsorship contracts.
